Its been nearly 18 months since ive updated the blog, yikes! i have still been plugging away at my debt and my FIRE goal i just forgot to keep the blog up to date with all the things going on lately, but heres my latest update….
My last debt update was standing at eye watering £14487, ouch, its now currently down to £8752, so thats around £6k paid off in 18 months which im very happy with considering im saving for a house deposit and a wedding (whilst paying bills) which is all happening this year.
After leaving my old job i transferred over my old pension to my private SIPP i have on Hargreaves Lansdown and my current investment standing is below
The Bahamas Petroleum Company was my ‘rookie mistake’ investment which i made in 2017. My current investments into the L&G (placed on the 22nd Feb 2019) were much more researched and i tried to diversify as much as i could.
Aswell as a SIPP i currently have a very small invest in a Stocks and Shares ISA which i funded to get it off the ground.
Future Goals for 2019
With a wedding and house deposit coming up my investments have basically come to a stand still, i have also decided to start paying off my debt before i look to invest in the market again as it makes no sense to invest and earn 4-6% whilst my debts rack up at 18.9% interest.
With the way things are headed i should hopefully be down to under £2k debt by the end of the year *crosses fingers* as im currently saving 60%+ of my income each month and will continue to do this until the debt is cleared.
